hahaha.. what a FOOL!!!
(I am directing this piece to censure all those who
think that they are the most intelligent people on the earth, you are despised
and this time I mean offence.)
I had this class and there was this new teacher. Ok
I agree he is not well versed with English, specially the speaking part. I
honestly don’t mind that and neither should any sensible soul, till the man in
question knows about his subject which he certainly did.
Now what really blew my head off was the wicked grin
on the faces of some of my fellows when our man pronounced a word wrong.
To make things more interesting I would definitely
like to tell that these mocking souls themselves are those who if asked to
stand and speak a few words in English would start perspiring as if they had been put on a burning stove.
I have keenly observed that we the people of this
nation (not all I mean) have this typical habit of thinking highly of
ourselves. Well that’s not an issue till we don’t look down at others; but,
this is exactly what we do.
It doesn’t matter if we are asking for a “teeshoo”
instead of a “tissue” but if anyone mispronounced “Mariah” as “Maaria”, we will
have our hearty laugh.
We are not interested in improving ourselves just
for the sake of it; rather what drives us is the force to let down our
neighbor. Now this if you ask me is really cynical. Why on earth is abashing
others our common interest.
Why don’t we look at ourselves before laughing at
others? We hold ourselves in high esteems, but we don’t care to respect others.
We want others to respect our privacy, pick up our calls whenever we do but
when the position is interchanged, we have our privacy to respect and obviously
we are busy enough to pick that call.
Education they said makes a person sensible, but
today; the more educated you are the more arrogant you be. Senses seem to just
disappear; we start thinking of ourselves as the God almighty and others, well
actually they don’t even deserve a word of kindness and respect.
I can go on a stretch on this subject because I have
always find it intriguing that while we expect others to mind their own
business’ ; we don’t mind ours and if we by mistake do, then it is to interfere
in others’
We are so bothered about “the others” and definitely
not for good.
We definitely need to do something about it because
this world has reflectors around, you get what you give.
If you poke fun at others’ then please don’ think
that you’ll be spared!!! Someone out there is making fun of you too..
Well said Shatakshi. These things are the ones which hinders our intellectual growth. And when there is no intellectuality, there is hardly anything to live for. You just touched many one's nerves with the Teeeshu thing. True that. No Indian can pronounce tissue as tissue, its always a teeeshu.
ReplyDeleteVery well written. Keep them coming!
